ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi approved the reconstitution of the National Economic Council (NEC), the President’s office said in a statement on Wednesday. The President said that the reconstitution is being carried out due to the caretaker governments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Caretaker Minister for Energy, Industries, and Investment S.M Tanvir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Adviser on Finance and Energy Himayatullah Khan have been appointed as a members of the NEC.

The president gave the approval on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in accordance with Article 156(1) of the Constitution.
