LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Sunday “the government is creating rifts between the PTI and military” but they (PTI) do not want any rift with the military. Speaking to a private television, he said they needed no approval to run an electoral campaign. Imran Khan strongly criticized the government, adding, “The incumbent government resorted to the tactics of postponing the elections in the country”. The former prime minister took a taunt at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president Maryam Nawaz, asking, “Whether it will run as per the constitution or at the will of Maryam Nawaz.”
Imran Khan criticizes Maryam Nawaz
Imran Khan lashed out at the political rivals, claiming, “They have now resorted to the strategies of rigging the elections in the country.” He lamented that Maryam Nawaz was receiving protocol during the electoral drive. Imran Khan said, “The government wanted to bring me to Balochistan following my arrest. However, we have our own plan in case of my arrest”.
Talking about the PML-N, Imran Khan claimed, “Maryam Nawaz is responsible for the fall of her party, not me.”
Earlier today, Imran Khan announced to delay till Monday the election rally earlier scheduled to be taken out from Zaman Park on Sunday. The announcement of Imran Khan came following the caretaker Punjab government imposed Section 144 in Lahore.
Taking to his social media account, Twitter, former prime minister Imran Khan claimed that Section 144 was imposed “illegally solely on his party election campaign” despite other public activities ongoing in the city.
It seems again Sec 144 has been imposed illegally solely on PTI election campaign as all other public activities are ongoing in Lahore. Only Zaman Park has been surrounded by containers & heavy police contingent. Clearly, like 8 March, Punjab CM & police want to provoke clashes

Imran Khan also questioned how Section 144 could be imposed in the provincial capital Lahore despite the announcement of the elections schedule in the province. Imran Khan asked the party workers not to fall into this trap and announced that they have postponed today’s election rally till Monday.
