ISLAMABAD: Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (IDCPC), has appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability, the military media affairs wing said in a statement on Monday.

During a meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ), he expressed confidence in further advancing the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, evolving regional and international security dynamics and bilateral relations.

“They expressed their shared resolve to further strengthen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China,” ISPR said.

Field Marshal highlighted the historic and time-tested bonds between the two countries and emphasised the importance of sustained high-level engagement, stronger institutional linkages and expanded cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

Earlier, Liu Haixing, addressing a symposium in Islamabad, said Islamabad and Beijing had consistently stood by each other.

He acknowledged the longstanding support extended by Pakistan’s political parties to the bilateral friendship, noting that the relationship was built on a strong political foundation.
