PSL 8 Matches in Karachi to Continue as Per Schedule: PCB

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League 8 matches in Karachi would continue as per schedule, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Saturday. The accouchement comes after the PCB held a crucial meeting with representatives of all six franchises as they agreed to continue play the matches following a terrorist attack on the Karachi police chief’s office earlier in the day.

Doubts were raised on the future of the scheduled PSL 8 matches in the metropolis after the terrorist attack.

The emergency meeting called by the PCB was attended by franchise representatives. In consultation with security agencies and the Sindh government, the PCB took all franchises into confidence about future matches.

PSL continue as per schedule 

As a result of the meeting, all frenchises agreed to continue with the ongoing edition of the PSL 8 as per schedule, sources said.

As per the schedule, Karachi Kings will take on Quetta Gladiators today (Saturday). Peshawar Zalmi would also arrive in the city early today in line with the schedule.

Karachi would host back-to-back matches on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The last game in the port city will take place on February 26.

It must be noted that when the attack took place, Quetta and Lahore Qalandars practiced in the city’s stadium. Both the cricket teams stayed inside the stadium until security clearance.
