PESHAWAR: China Window Peshawar has proposed collaborating with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Industries Department to promote technical education and vocational training, seeking to connect Pakistan-China cooperation with employment opportunities and industrial development in the province.

Speaking at a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration organised by China Window, KP Advisor for Industries Dr Muhammad Irshad welcomed the proposal, saying industry-oriented training could help young people secure jobs, establish businesses and contribute to economic growth.

He said the initiative could be developed through consultations with relevant institutions, with a focus on practical skills that meet the needs of local industries.

China’s industrial expertise could support skills development in KP

Irshad said young people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had considerable talent and a strong work ethic but needed access to technical training aligned with industrial requirements.

He highlighted the importance of developing skills in operating and maintaining modern machinery, manufacturing quality products and using technology to improve productivity.

The advisor said Pakistan could explore ways to benefit from China’s industrial experience by assessing local requirements, reviewing existing training facilities and identifying gaps in technical education.

He proposed a cooperation plan specifying priority skills, participating institutions, training duration and trainee selection criteria. Consultation with local industries would also help identify opportunities for practical experience and employment after training.

Irshad expressed his willingness to take the proposal forward with the provincial Industries Department and relevant technical training institutions.
