RIYADH: Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and affirmed his country’s support in confronting anything that threatens the Kingdom’s security, stability and territorial integrity during a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal received a phone call on Thursday from his Egyptian counterpart Dr Abdelatty, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
During the phone call, Abdelatty strongly condemned the attacks targeting Abha and King Khalid International airports, stressing that the escalation and attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s territory constitute a destabilising threat to the security and stability of the region as a whole.

He expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and affirmed its support in confronting anything that threatens its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
The two ministers also discussed regional developments and the importance of exerting the necessary efforts and continuing coordination between the two brotherly countries in a manner that contributes to supporting security and stability in the region.
Coalition Intercepts, Destroys Houthi Ballistic Missiles
Official spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Maliki on Thursday said that three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia towards Riyadh and Khamis Mushait were intercepted and destroyed.
“A ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Khamis Mushait was intercepted and destroyed,” Coalition spokesperson Major General Al-Maliki said in a post on X.

In another post, Al-Maliki said, “We intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Riyadh.”

Earlier in a statement, the Coalition spokesperson reiterated that the brutal attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia on civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia will not go unpunished.
Al-Maliki specifically mentioned the most recent attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport.
“Consequent to the recent Houthi attacks, the Joint Forces of the Coalition launched a comprehensive operation, destroying a total of 82 military targets belonging to the Houthi militia across the governorates of Saada, Al-Hudaydah, Al-Jawf, and Marib,” the spokesperson said.
“The targets included ballistic missile sites, specifically 11 mountain-based ballistic missile storages in Saada, command and control centers, communication systems, missile and weapons storages, and gathering sites for terrorist Houthi groups,” Al-Maliki said in a statement.

Muslim Nations Strongly Condemn Houthi Attacks
Muslim nations and regional organisations have strongly condemned Houthi attacks targeting two airports in Saudi Arabia, calling the strikes a grave violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security.
The Arab League, in a statement, said that targeting civil aviation facilities and endangering the lives of passengers and workers constitutes a highly dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, and a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.
It warned of the danger of the continued attacks, their widening scope, and the repeated targeting of civilian and vital facilities, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The Arab League reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom and support for Saudi Arabia in confronting any attacks targeting its security, stability and sovereignty, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents. It stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of Arab national security.
The Arab League also extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery, while calling for an immediate halt to the attacks and urging restraint to prevent further escalation that could threaten regional security and stability.
Qatar condemned the attacks, and in a statement from its foreign affairs ministry, said the Houthis’ actions were a “grave violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security, the safety of civilians, civil facilities, and air navigation.”
Doha stands by Saudi Arabia’s side “in all legitimate measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, safety of its territories and interests,” the statement added. It reiterated that “Saudi security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and the collective security system of the Gulf Cooperation Council states for the Arab Gulf countries.”
The United Arab Emirates foreign ministry said the attacks constituted a “flagrant violation of the sovereignty” of Saudi Arabia and “a threat to its security and stability.”
The ministry, in a statement, reaffirmed the “UAE’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and stability.”
Kuwait’s foreign affairs ministry, in a statement, declared the country’s “categorical rejection of the recurrence of these cowardly attacks that target innocent civilians and civilian and economic facilities, affirming the necessity of halting them immediately.”
“The Ministry stresses that the security of the Kingdom is an inseparable part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States,” the statement read.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said targeting airports and civilian facilities and endangering the lives of travelers and workers constituted a criminal act and a blatant violation of international law.
It said Saudi Arabia’s security was integral to Bahrain’s security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Jordan described the attacks as a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability, as well as a breach of international law and the UN Charter.
Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fuad Al-Majali affirmed his country’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security.
Syria also condemned the attacks and expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry said Damascus supported the Kingdom in confronting threats to its security, territorial integrity and civilian facilities, while wishing those injured a speedy recovery.
“Targeting airports and civilian facilities” was a violation of international law and principles protecting civilians and civilian objects, the ministry said, adding that such attacks threatened the safety of civil aviation.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi strongly condemned what he described as Houthi “terrorist attacks” targeting Abha and King Khalid airports.
He called the attacks a “serious escalation” and a flagrant violation of international laws and norms.
Al-Budaiwi said GCC countries stood united with Saudi Arabia and expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom against threats to its security, stability and sovereignty.
He also offered condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The Muslim World League condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, including targeting Abha and King Khalid airports
In a statement issued by its General Secretariat, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa described the attacks as acts of terrorism that violate religious values, international law and humanitarian principles.
The General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council also condemned the attacks, denouncing the Houthis’ continued and repeated targeting of civilians and civilian property in Saudi Arabia.
