RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman has held a phone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during which both sides discussed freedom of navigation and security of vital waterways.
They also reviewed ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields and addressed the latest developments in the region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
They stressed the importance of supporting efforts to ensure the security and freedom of navigation in vital waterways to bolster regional stability.

Saudi Crown Prince holds phone call with Qatari Amir
Earlier, the Saudi Crown Prince also held a phone call with the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During the call, they reviewed relations between the two brotherly countries and discussed the latest developments in the region, as well as efforts to achieve security and stability, the SPA reported.

It may be recalled that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had stressed the importance of safeguarding maritime security and freedom of navigation, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.
The two leaders, during a meeting in Washington, also reviewed strategic ties between Saudi Arabia and the United States, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
They emphasised the need to promote regional stability and maintain the uninterrupted flow of global trade and supply chains.
Prince Faisal and Marco Rubio called for continued coordination and consultation on matters of mutual interest, while supporting diplomatic efforts to address regional crises and advance peace, security and stability.
