BRIDGETOWN, Barbados: Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat created Caribbean Premier League history with a stunning century in the 2026 final, becoming the first overseas player to score two centuries in a single edition of the tournament.

Representing Jamaica Kingsmen against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Kensington Oval on Sunday, Sadaqat produced a breathtaking innings of 114 runs from 58 deliveries, featuring eight fours and nine sixes.
Historic CPL milestone
Sadaqat’s second century of the season placed him among an elite group of batters to achieve the feat in Caribbean Premier League history.
He became the fourth batter overall to score two centuries in one tournament edition, joining Dwayne Smith, who achieved the milestone in 2014 and 2017, and Shimron Hetmyer, who matched the record during the 2026 season.

The Pakistani opener also finished the tournament as the third-highest run-scorer, collecting 363 runs in seven matches at an impressive strike rate of 174.51 and an average of 51.85.
Brilliant innings falls short
Despite Sadaqat’s record-breaking performance, Jamaica Kingsmen could not lift the trophy after suffering an eight-wicket defeat against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the final.

Batting first, Kingsmen posted 170 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs, with Sadaqat contributing the majority of the team’s total.
Saim Ayub provided some support with a 29-run knock from 22 balls, while the rest of the Kingsmen batting lineup struggled against a disciplined Falcons bowling attack.
Falcons secure title victory
Sufiyan Muqeem played a key role in Falcons’ victory, claiming four wickets for 14 runs in his four-over spell. Alzarri Joseph took two wickets, while Jayden Seales, Shadab Khan and Shamar Springer picked up one each.
In response, Falcons chased down the target of 171 in just 16.4 overs after losing two wickets.
Amir Jangoo led the successful chase with 57 runs from 34 balls, while Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 47 from 35 deliveries to guide Falcons to the Caribbean Premier League 2026 title.
