RIYADH: Several Muslim countries have strongly condemned a Houthi militia attempt to target Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh with a ballistic missile, which the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed on Saturday.
Muslim countries expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemned the attack as a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and international law. The Muslim World League and Arab Parliament also denounced the Houthi attacks and expressed support for measures to safeguard Saudi Arabia’s security.
In a statement, official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki said that the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Terrorist Houthi Militia toward the city of Riyadh at dawn on Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Coalition Spokesperson said the escalation by the Terrorist Houthi Militia and its continued attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in the capital, Riyadh, a city inhabited by over eight million citizens and residents, demonstrate the Militia’s intransigence and its persistent, deliberate, and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian objects, reflecting hostile and terrorist behaviour, SPA reported.
Major General Turki Al-Malki said that the Houthi Militia also attempted to target civilians and civilian objects in the cities of Baish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu, but these hostile attempts were thwarted by air defence systems.
“The Coalition Command holds the inherent right to take appropriate measures, in accordance with the Customary International Humanitarian Law, to deter the behaviour of the Terrorist Houthi Militia,” the spokesperson said.

Jordan Condemns Houthi Attack on Riyadh
The Jordanian government on Saturday condemned the Houthi militia’s targeting of Riyadh with a ballistic missile, as well as its attempts to target civilians and civilian facilities in Bish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu.
Jordan described the attacks as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, a threat to its security, stability, and territorial integrity, and a breach of international law and the UN Charter.

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali affirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for all measures it takes to safeguard its security, stability, national assets, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
Bahrain Condemns Houthi Attacks on Civilians in Saudi Arabia
Bahrain strongly condemned the escalating terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia and its repeated, deliberate attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in Riyadh, Bish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu.
Bahrain described these attacks as a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability and protect its citizens and residents, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security and stability are an integral part of Bahrain’s own national security.
It also praised the efficiency and high readiness of the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces in confronting and thwarting these terrorist attacks, including their successful interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh.
Bahrain renewed its call on the UN Security Council to fulfil its responsibilities and take a firm stance to halt the repeated Houthi terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia, hold those responsible accountable, and implement its relevant resolutions, including Resolution 2216.

Kuwait Condemns Houthi Attempt to Target Riyadh
Kuwait strongly condemned and denounced the Houthi militia’s attempt to target Riyadh with a ballistic missile, as well as its attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in Bish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said these hostile attacks constitute a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
The ministry praised the vigilance and efficiency of the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces in countering these reprehensible and cowardly attacks.
Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, its support for the Kingdom, and its backing for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty and security and protect its citizens and residents.
The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the GCC countries.

Egypt Condemns Attacks on Saudi Arabia
Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the attacks on Riyadh, describing them as a flagrant violation of the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and the entire region, as well as the rules and provisions of international law.
Egypt said the attacks constitute a dangerous escalation that could heighten tensions and destabilise the region.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt reaffirmed its categorical rejection of any attempt to undermine the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty and expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and with any measures it takes to safeguard its stability and security. The statement stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia and Egypt is indivisible.

Qatar Strongly Condemns Houthi Attacks on Riyadh
Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the Houthi militia’s targeting of Riyadh with a ballistic missile, as well as its attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in the cities of Baish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement issued on Sunday that these attacks constitute reprehensible aggressive conduct, an unacceptable disregard for the lives of civilians, a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a clear breach of the rules of international law.

The ministry stressed Qatar’s categorical rejection of attacks against civilian objects and civilians, and affirmed the need for an immediate halt to these irresponsible acts.

Lebanon Condemns Houthi Attack on Riyadh
Lebanese Foreign Ministry, in a statement, strongly condemned the missile attack that targeted Riyadh on Friday.
The ministry described the attack on the security of Saudi Arabia as a serious violation of international law and a threat to regional security and stability, expressing Lebanon’s full solidarity with the Kingdom.
The ministry affirmed Lebanon’s support for Saudi Arabia in confronting any attack on its security and territorial integrity. It also reiterated its categorical rejection of any targeting of cities and civilian facilities or actions that endanger civilian lives.
MWL Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia
The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist militia’s continued attacks on Saudi Arabia and its attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in Riyadh with a ballistic missile, as well as in Bish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu.
In a statement issued by the MWL General Secretariat, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa renewed his condemnation of these terrorist attacks, which violate all religious values as well as international and humanitarian laws and norms.
On behalf of the MWL’s academies, bodies, and international councils, as well as the Muslim peoples represented under its umbrella, Al-Issa reaffirmed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to deter aggressors and safeguard its security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to protect the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people from all harm.

Arab Parliament Condemns Houthi Attack Targeting Riyadh
The Arab Parliament strongly denounced the terrorist Houthi militia’s continued attacks, including the attack targeting Riyadh, stressing that it constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and a threat to Arab national security and regional stability.
In a statement today, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi expressed the parliament’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures it takes to defend itself against any attacks targeting its security and territorial integrity.

Al-Yamahi called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its legal and political responsibilities to stop these blatant attacks, ensure that they are not repeated, and hold those responsible accountable.
