BRUSSELS: The European Union strongly condemned the military campaign of the terrorist Houthi militia in Yemen and the attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, including the recent attack targeting Makkah, reaffirming its full solidarity with the Kingdom.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the European Union said: “The targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable,” warning that Houthi attacks undermine efforts to achieve a non-military solution to the conflict in Yemen and further increase threats to regional security.
The European Union called on the Houthi militia to halt all military actions, reiterating its commitment to supporting the Yemeni people and government and working with the United Nations, regional partners, and the international community to reduce escalation and achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace in Yemen.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defence stated that Civil Defence teams in Taif Governorate responded on Thursday to falling debris from the interception and destruction of a drone launched by the terrorist Houthi militia, which resulted in the death of a Yemeni resident, injuries to a Saudi woman and a Pakistani resident whose condition is critical, as well as material damage to civilian buildings and vehicles, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The directorate confirmed that standard emergency procedures for such incidents have been implemented.

Pakistan Strongly Condemns Houthi Drone Attack on Taif
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday expressed deep concern over the Houthi drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s Taif Governorate.
“Pakistan strongly condemns this provocation, which endangered innocent lives and threatens regional peace and security,” Deputy PM Dar said in a statement.
“We stand in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people,” Ishaq Dar said.
Deeply concerned at the Houthi drone attack on Taif, which claimed the life of a Yemeni resident, injured a Saudi citizen and a Pakistani national (reportedly in critical condition).

The Houthi drone attacks on Saudi Arabia have drawn widespread condemnation from countries across the region and beyond, with governments expressing solidarity with the Kingdom and reaffirming their support for its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan strongly condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, warning that continued assaults pose a threat to regional peace and stability and could have serious implications for the global economy and energy security.
Addressing a weekly briefing, he said Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder unwaveringly with the brotherly kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defence of its sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as the security and sanctity of Haramain Sharifain.
“We strongly condemn attacks on holy sites,” Khan said, praising the swift and heroic actions of the Saudi armed forces in foiling the attack.
The FO spokesperson further said that Islamabad is closely and seriously monitoring the situation in the Middle East, while condemning a heinous Houthi attack that had hurt the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.
