ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security sources have rejected baseless allegations of widespread restrictions on peaceful protests, arbitrary arrests and forced disappearances in Balochistan, saying such false claims are being circulated to create a misleading picture and ignore the legal and security realities on the ground.
“Allegations claiming widespread restrictions on peaceful protest, arbitrary arrests, and forced disappearances in Balochistan are being circulated to create a misleading picture. These claims ignore the legal and security realities on the ground,” security officials said.
According to security officials, peaceful protest is a recognised right, but it cannot be used as a cover for activities that disrupt public order or support banned networks.
Security officials said arrests are carried out only against individuals facing specific legal charges under the law, not for political opinions.
Security officials said that allegations of “forced disappearances” and secret transfers of women made by Nadia Baloch are repeatedly put forward without verifiable evidence and form part of a coordinated propaganda campaign.
Every detained person is produced before a court of law and has full access to legal representation, security officials said.
Nadia Baloch’s attempt to drag the international community into internal legal and security matters is a deliberate strategy to pressure institutions and shield those involved in unlawful activities, security officials said.
Security officials said that the justice system continues to function according to the Constitution and established procedures. “No one is above the law, and no one is denied due process,” a security official said.
Spreading exaggerated and one-sided claims will not change the facts or stop lawful action against those who threaten peace and stability, security officials said.
Security sources said that family members of accused individuals, including Nadia Baloch, frequently amplify unverified stories to generate international sympathy and divert attention from the actual charges.
“Legal processes are being followed transparently; any claim of secret detention or unlawful transfer is false and intended to mislead the public,” security officials said.
Security officials said that the focus remains on maintaining law and order while ensuring that genuine grievances are addressed through proper legal and democratic channels, not through manufactured narratives.
