UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned on Tuesday Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia that targeted energy infrastructure and wounded dozens of civilians.
“We condemn the Houthi cross-border attacks against multiple sites in southern Saudi Arabia,” said Guterres’ spokesman Stephane Dujarric.
“These attacks affected civilians and energy infrastructure, and we of course express deep concern over the reports of civilian casualties.”
Earlier, spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen (Coalition Forces), Major General Turki Al-Malki, said that Houthi militia attacks on the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran injured 73 civilians, including women and children.
In a statement, Major General Al-Malki said that the escalation by the Houthi militia and its attempts to target Saudi Arabia, its national assets, its citizens, and residents on its territory is a dangerous escalation that confirms the hostile and irresponsible approach of this terrorist militia.

“These sinful and unjustified attacks committed by the terrorist Houthi militia deliberately harm the Kingdom’s national resources, facilities, and civilian sites, and confirm its extremist criminal behaviour that rejects achieving peace and stability in Yemen and its Arab and Islamic neighbours,” he said.
Saudi Arabia Condemns Houthi Attacks on Civilians
Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia’s targeting of civilians and energy facilities in the southern region.
Saudi Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Tuesday, also condemned the militia’s continued attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and its threats to freedom of international maritime navigation.
The Kingdom reiterated its categorical rejection of the hostile approach and criminal conduct persistently pursued by this militia in threatening the security and stability of Yemen and its Arab and Islamic surroundings, as well as its continued rejection of all peace efforts.

The ministry affirmed its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty, safeguard its national assets, and protect the security and safety of its citizens and residents.
It further stressed that it would not tolerate any attack targeting its territory or national assets, in accordance with the rules of international law.

The Kingdom warned against the consequences of the terrorist Houthi militia’s continued targeting of innocent civilians and civilian facilities, and stressed the need for an immediate halt to all forms of escalation carried out by the militia, as well as its continued threats to the security of maritime navigation.
Pakistan Condemns Houthi Militia Attacks
Pakistan on Tuesday condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the reprehensible attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against civilian and economic targets in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office, in a statement, said that the Houthi militia attacks are a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom, pose a threat to peace and stability of the entire region, and undermine efforts aimed at securing a peaceful and durable resolution of the conflict in Yemen.

Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity of Saudi Arabia and expressed complete solidarity with the leadership, government and people of the Kingdom.
“Pakistan reiterates its unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and stands in complete solidarity with the leadership, Government and brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the Foreign Office stated.
Pakistan also conveyed its sincere wishes for the swift and full recovery of all those injured in the attacks.
“Consistent with the UN Charter and international law, Pakistan fully supports the Kingdom’s legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its territory, protect its citizens and residents and safeguard its national assets against any threat,” the Foreign Office statement read.
Pakistan has been and will continue to make all efforts for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region, the Foreign Office added.
PM Sharif Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Houthi attacks targeting civilian and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia after the attacks left dozens of people injured.

In a statement posted on X, the prime minister said he condemned the attacks “in the strongest terms” and stood firmly with the Saudi leadership and people.

Pakistan Stands with Saudi Arabia
Prime Minister Sharif expressed solidarity with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and the “brotherly people” of Saudi Arabia.
He said attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure threatened innocent lives and undermined peace and security across the region.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s “steadfast support” for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. He also prayed for the swift recovery of all those injured in the attacks.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia maintain longstanding strategic and diplomatic relations, with Islamabad repeatedly expressing support for the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
