BAGH, Azad Kashmir: Daily life is returning to normal in Azad Jammu and Kashmir following a period of political tension, with residents rejecting the narrative of the Joint Awami Action Committee and urging it to pursue dialogue with the newly formed government.
Residents said the political deadlock has ended following the elections and called on people staging a sit-in in Rawalakot to choose dialogue over confrontation and disruption.
A resident of Bagh district said markets were fully open, educational activities were continuing in schools, and government offices were operating normally.
Citizens Reject Protest Narrative
The resident said ordinary people had rejected the narrative being promoted by the Joint Awami Action Committee and were focused on their daily affairs.
He said buying and selling was continuing as usual in markets, while there appeared to be little public support for the Action Committee’s position.
Residents also urged members of the committee to abandon what they described as a policy of disruption and refrain from further misleading young people.
They said that following the formation of a new government, negotiations were now the most appropriate way to address outstanding issues.
Call For Dialogue
Residents said those taking part in the sit-in in Rawalakot should also assess the current situation and begin talks with the government.
They said dialogue could help strengthen peace, development and normal life across Azad Kashmir.
Residents stressed that political differences and demands should be addressed at the negotiating table rather than through prolonged street protests.
They said political stability would allow greater attention to be given to resolving public grievances and addressing the region’s wider development needs.
