RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces killed 21 terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored proxies of Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij during separate operations in Balochistan’s Chagai and Pishin districts overnight, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the night of 31 August and 1 September, during multiple incidents in the Nokcha area of Chagai district and Ziarat Cross area of Pishin district, 21 terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored proxies of Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij were killed due to effective responses by the security forces.
On 31 August, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan attempted to disrupt the peaceful movement of commuters along N-40 Quetta–Taftan Highway by establishing an illegal checkpoint for extortion, ISPR stated.
Security forces responded immediately and, after an intense fire exchange, killed 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists on the spot. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the terrorists, ISPR said.
During the night of 31 August and 1 September, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij launched a coordinated attack in an attempt to breach the Customs House. Security forces responded effectively and, after an intense fire exchange, killed 10 Indian-sponsored terrorists. Moreover, security forces also engaged the fleeing terrorists, inflicting further casualties, according to ISPR.
According to the military’s media wing, the attack on the Customs House was a manifestation of the terror-crime nexus, orchestrated to prevent Customs officials from performing their lawful duties and thereby facilitate the continuation of criminal activities in the area.
However, during the exchange of fire, six brave sons of the soil, including two officers and a government official from the Customs Department, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and embraced martyrdom, ISPR stated.
Sanitisation operations were continuing in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure the safety and security of the local population and the key national highways, ISPR said.
The military said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue with full resolve.
“Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to eliminating the menace of foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorism from the country,” ISPR resolved.

Pakistan witnessed a surge in terror activities, particularly in its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban came into power.
Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Taliban regime to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil, particularly those linked to the banned TTP terrorist network. However, the Taliban regime failed to take any action against the terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil.
Due to the surge in terrorist attacks, Pakistan has intensified counterterrorism operations to eliminate the menace.
On July 9, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the country’s civil and military leadership had taken a “mutual and singular decision” to eliminate terrorism following several major terrorist attacks in Balochistan.
