ISLAMABAD: Shifa International Hospitals has achieved the highest number of Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditations among healthcare organisations in Pakistan, marking significant recognition of its efforts to meet international standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
Shifa International Hospitals Limited, which operates Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad and other healthcare facilities, said in a statement that the accreditations reflected the ability of a Pakistani healthcare institution to meet internationally recognised benchmarks in areas including clinical quality, patient safety and evidence-based medical care.
The hospital said the JCI accreditation of Shifa Enterprise demonstrated its commitment to applying consistent standards across its facilities and services.
Ambulance service receives international accreditation
A key milestone highlighted by Shifa is the JCI accreditation of its Shifa Ambulance Service (SAS), which the hospital said makes it the first ambulance service in Pakistan to receive JCI accreditation.
The recognition is particularly significant for emergency and pre-hospital healthcare, where the quality and speed of medical intervention can have a direct impact on patient outcomes.
The hospital said the accreditation underscored the importance of maintaining patient safety and quality standards from the earliest stage of emergency response, before a patient reaches a medical facility.
