GAZA: Saudi Arabia’s aid agency, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), has launched a project to provide safe drinking water to people in the Gaza Strip as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian population.
The project will supply around 500,000 liters of safe drinking water each day, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
Water tankers will distribute the supply to displacement camps, benefiting nearly 100,000 people.

The launch ceremony was attended by representatives of international organisations, the local community and agencies working in the water sector. A documentary highlighting the project and its role in strengthening water security in Gaza was also screened.
Saudi Arabia expands water aid in Gaza with four desalination plants
The initiative expands Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. KSrelief has previously implemented a project to establish four water desalination plants in the Khan Younis and Deir Al-Balah governorates.
The latest project aims to ease the impact of widespread damage to Gaza’s water and sanitation infrastructure, as well as the reduced capacity to operate wells and desalination facilities.
Saudi Arabia continues to support efforts to improve living conditions in Gaza by providing safe drinking water and helping create conditions conducive to recovery.
KSrelief distributes hot meals in Gaza Strip
Earlier on Thurdsay, the central kitchen run by KSrelief continued its efforts to ease the suffering of Palestinians by distributing 25,000 hot meals to the most vulnerable families in the central and southern Gaza Strip, SPA reported.

The assistance benefited 25,000 individuals and was provided as part of the Saudi campaign to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Saudi Arabia urges global action to end Israeli violations in Gaza
Earlier this month, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan renewed the Kingdom’s call on the international community to assume its responsibilities by taking practical steps to halt Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
Prince Faisal was speaking at the Arab-Islamic countries Ministerial Meeting in Support of Jerusalem and its Holy Sites, hosted by Jordan.
The foreign minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s position that East Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Palestine, stressing that all unilateral measures, including settlement expansion and land confiscation, are illegal and cannot alter the city’s legal status or create legitimate rights.
He also reiterated the Kingdom’s rejection of actions aimed at changing Jerusalem’s historical and legal status or undermining its Islamic and Christian identity. He dismissed attempts to invoke freedom of worship to justify measures that seek to impose a new political reality under occupation.
