Saudi Grand Mosque Library Offers Children Programme

MAKKAH: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a series of summer cultural and educational programmes for children at the Grand Mosque Library.

The initiative, launched through the Two Holy Mosques Centre for Culture and Enrichment, is designed to provide young visitors with meaningful, educational and informative content while enriching their overall experience at the Grand Mosque, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The programmes combine learning, cultural awareness and entertainment through age-appropriate activities aimed at developing children’s knowledge and encouraging positive values.

The summer programme features a variety of cultural, educational and awareness activities covering humanitarian values, social responsibility, learning and personal development.

Saudi initiative seeks to broaden children’s understanding 

Through interactive storytelling and engaging presentations, the initiative seeks to broaden children’s understanding of important issues and introduce knowledge in a simple and accessible manner.

The Centre launched the programme with the story “A Mother’s Courage” on Safar 29, 1448 AH, focusing on courage, compassion and positive family values. The programme will continue with a special World Humanitarian Day activity, highlighting the importance of humanitarian values, compassion, service, generosity and helping others.

The series will conclude with the story “The Little Goat” on Rabi Al-Awwal 13, 1448 AH, providing children with another opportunity to learn through storytelling and creative educational content.

The summer initiative is part of broader efforts to make children’s time at the Grand Mosque more purposeful and enriching.

Positive learning environment

By combining cultural programmes, educational activities and entertainment, the centre aims to create a positive learning environment for young visitors while strengthening their cultural awareness and social values.

The programmes also reflect the authority’s efforts to enhance the experience of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques by providing educational and cultural initiatives tailored to different age groups.
