MOSCOW: Russia has warned Britain of consequences over the supply of British-made drones to Ukraine after the weapons were used to strike targets inside Russian territory.
The Russian Embassy in London accused the UK of deliberately escalating the Ukraine conflict and described Britain as an accomplice in Ukrainian attacks.
“London’s actions will inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer,” the embassy said, warning that deeper British involvement would carry a higher price.
Britain rejected Moscow’s criticism, with a Ministry of Defence spokesperson saying the UK stood “shoulder to shoulder” with Ukraine and remained committed to providing Kyiv with equipment.
British drones used in Russia
A military source confirmed to the media that British-made drones had been used in attacks inside Russia targeting military and industrial sites, including oil refineries and warehouses operated by online retailer Wildberries.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also said drones using British components and configurations had been deployed against Russian territory, including a fuel depot in the Rostov region.

The warning follows intensified exchanges of long-range attacks between Moscow and Kyiv.
A Ukrainian attack on Monday killed nine people and injured 23 others, including a child, according to reports.
Russian authorities also said Ukraine launched around 822 drones towards the country on Saturday night, including about 600 targeting Moscow. Seven deaths were reported across Russia.
Russian attacks on Ukraine the same night killed at least seven people and injured more than 39.
Britain announced in April that it would provide Ukraine with tens of thousands of drones, including long-range strike systems, as part of its largest drone package for Kyiv.
