ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has urged the international community to hold India accountable for its state-sponsored terrorism in the region, saying Islamabad has repeatedly shared evidence of India’s involvement in terrorism and destabilising activities in Pakistan.

In response to media queries, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry Tahir Andrabi on Monday categorically rejected allegations by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah linking Pakistan to certain arrests in India, describing the claims as “baseless” and part of New Delhi’s campaign to divert attention from its own domestic security challenges.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan “strongly rejects” the Indian Home Minister’s assertions attempting to link Pakistan with the arrests.

He termed the allegations another manifestation of India’s “malicious campaign” against Pakistan, aimed at diverting attention from domestic security challenges and securing narrow domestic political gains.

“Pakistan strongly rejects the allegations made by India’s Home Minister, attempting to link Pakistan with certain arrests in India. Such propaganda is yet another demonstration of India’s malicious campaign against Pakistan to divert attention from its domestic security challenges and to blame Pakistan for narrow domestic political gains,” the spokesperson said.

Evidence of India’s involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan

The spokesperson said that India was suppressing dissent and minorities internally and accused New Delhi of “exporting terror and abetting terrorists” externally.

“At home, India is a repressive state, brutally oppressing its minorities and silencing dissent. Externally, India is exporting terror and abetting terrorists,” the spokesperson said.

Andrabi said unfounded Indian allegations could not divert international attention from India’s state-sponsored terrorism, targeted assassinations and subversive activities abroad.

Pakistan, he said, had repeatedly shared evidence with the international community regarding India’s involvement in terrorism and destabilising activities inside Pakistan.

The Foreign Office spokesperson also cited convicted Indian national and convicted and serving Indian naval commander Kulbhushan Jadhav as “undeniable proof” of India’s direct involvement in subversion and terrorism in Pakistan.

“Pakistan urges the international community to reject baseless Indian allegations and hold India accountable for its state-sponsored terrorism in the region,” the spokesperson said.
