ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has entered the growing international market for OMODA’s plug-in hybrid SUVs with the launch of the OMODA 7 SHS-P at an ex-factory price of Rs 10.649 million ($38,353).
The Chinese-made vehicle targets Pakistan’s premium compact SUV segment.
NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of Nishat Group, has announced the price after months of teasers and anticipation.
The product was first showcased in Pakistan at the PakWheels Auto Show in Karachi.
The company has also introduced a price-lock offer valid until August 31, 2026, with bookings available online and through 20 OMODA and JAECOO dealerships across Pakistan.
The OMODA 7 is produced under OMODA, one of the international automotive brands developed by Chinese automaker Chery Group.
Chery, established in 1997, has grown from a domestic Chinese carmaker into a major exporter, with its brands now sold across international markets.
Chery Group entered the Fortune Global 500 for the first time in 2024 and ranked 233rd in the 2025 list, according to the company.
OMODA and sister marque JAECOO form part of Chery’s international expansion strategy, targeting markets with SUVs and new-energy vehicles.
Chery says its global expansion has included a millionth export of the Tiggo 7 in 2024, underscoring the group’s growing overseas presence.

The OMODA 7 is a mid-sized SUV designed to compete with models such as the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, and other Chinese plug-in hybrid SUVs.
The model was unveiled internationally in 2024 and has since been prepared for rollout across several overseas markets.
Pakistan-specs OMODA
The Pakistan-specification OMODA 7 SHS-P combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering around 341 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque.
Its 18.4-kilowatt-hour battery provides more than 90 kilometres of claimed pure-electric driving range. The vehicle can cover many daily commutes without using its petrol engine.
The manufacturer claims a combined driving range of up to 1,250 kilometres, combining electric and petrol power for longer journeys.
The vehicle is equipped with a range of technology and comfort features, including zero-gravity seats, an eight-point massage function, a 12-speaker Sony audio system, illuminated front bumper lighting, a sliding infotainment display, fragrance dispensers, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The OMODA 7’s price in Pakistan is notable when compared with pricing in other markets, although direct comparisons are affected by differences in taxes, specifications, duties, and whether prices include registration or other on-road costs.
In the United Kingdom, the range-topping OMODA 7 SHS-P Noble Tech is priced at £35,505 on the road, equivalent to roughly $47,700 at current exchange rates.
The entry-level plug-in hybrid version starts at about £32,005, according to UK market listings. The Noble Tech specification includes features such as a 15.6-inch sliding touchscreen and a 12-speaker Sony audio system.
The Pakistani ex-factory price of Rs 10.649 million translates to about $38,353 at the rupee’s recent interbank market rate of around Rs 277.66 to the dollar.
That makes the Pakistani sticker price lower in nominal dollar terms than the UK’s top-spec OMODA 7, although the comparison is not directly equivalent because the UK figure is an on-the-road retail price and Pakistan’s figure is ex-factory.
The OMODA 7 is also being prepared for other right-hand-drive markets.
In Australia, local pricing has not yet been announced, although automotive industry estimates have placed the eventual price of the plug-in hybrid at around A$45,000.
The vehicle is expected to compete with models including the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and other electrified SUVs.
In Malaysia, the plug-in hybrid OMODA 7, known as the OMODA C7 in that market, is expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2026 as a locally assembled vehicle.
Industry estimates put its starting price at around RM170,000, although that figure has not been officially confirmed.
The international rollout gives Pakistan’s launch significance beyond the domestic market. OMODA and JAECOO said their brands had expanded into 64 markets in less than three years, and NexGen Auto says Pakistan recorded the brands’ highest first-month sales in any market globally.
NexGen Auto introduced OMODA and JAECOO in Pakistan on August 1, 2025, under Nishat Group, unveiling five models including the OMODA E5, OMODA 7, JAECOO J5, JAECOO J6, and JAECOO J7.
The company says the brands have crossed 10,000 vehicle deliveries in Pakistan during their first year.
The OMODA 7 price announcement therefore marks a further step in the rapid expansion of Chinese automotive brands in Pakistan, particularly in the emerging plug-in hybrid segment.
