BECKENHAM: Pakistan experienced batter Shan Masood has returned to training ahead of the three-match Test series against England, providing a boost to the touring side before the opening match on August 19.
The 36-year-old took part in Pakistan’s practice session at Kent County Cricket Club in Beckenham on Tuesday, where he resumed batting under the supervision of the team’s medical staff.
“The national Test squad took part in a practice session at Kent County Cricket Club in Beckenham. The players participated in batting and bowling net practice during the session,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said.
“Injured batter Shan Masood also took part in the practice session. Under the supervision of the medical team, he carried out batting practice.”

Masood suffered a fracture to the index finger of his left hand during Pakistan’s recent Test series against the West Indies.
The left-handed batter sustained the injury after being struck by fast bowler Jayden Seales during his century in the first innings of the opening Test in Tarouba.
He was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the West Indies series but remained with the Pakistan squad for rehabilitation.
His availability for the first Test against England will depend on his recovery and clinical progress.
The England series will begin on August 19, with the opening Test running until August 23. The second Test will be played at Lord’s from August 27 to 31, while Edgbaston will host the final match from September 9 to 13.
The series marks Pakistan’s first Test tour of England since 2020.
