DUBAI, UAE: Pakistan’s consolation victory over Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I of their recent series has triggered a significant upward movement for several players in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, with spinner Nashra Sundhu leading the charge by breaking into the top eight bowling chart.

The left-arm spinner climbed one place to eighth after a miserly spell of 1-17 in the Dambulla contest, capping off a series where she emerged as one of Pakistan’s most consistent performers. Sundhu finished with three wickets at an exceptional economy rate of just 6.72, underlining her growing stature in the shortest format.
Batting brilliance rewarded
While Sri Lanka secured the series, the rankings update highlighted outstanding individual contributions from both camps. Pakistan’s young batting sensation Shawaal Zulfiqar, 21, accumulated 132 runs across the three matches, the highest aggregate of the series, and climbed three places to 49th in the batting rankings.
Sri Lanka’s Imesha Dulani, who earned the Player of the Series award, was not far behind. The right-hander amassed 123 runs at an impressive average of 61.50, moving up one spot to 22nd in the T20I batting rankings.

All-round impact
The bowling rankings witnessed multiple gains, with Pakistan’s Tuba Hassan moving up three places to 48th. Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu was the biggest mover among her side’s bowlers, climbing five spots to 36th.

Sri Lanka’s Kavisha Dilhari, who finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series, strengthened her position in the all-rounders’ rankings by climbing one place to 13th. The 25-year-old claimed two wickets in the final T20I to cap off an impactful series.
