GAZA CITY, Palestine: Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip killed at least four Palestinians on Saturday, while an overnight air strike destroyed two medicine warehouses serving Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, Palestinian health authorities said.
The latest strikes came days after Hamas and other Palestinian factions signed a disarmament agreement under a United States-backed initiative that Washington described as a breakthrough towards ending the war.
According to Palestinian health authorities, Israel has continued military operations despite a ceasefire that took effect on 10 October 2025, with more than 1,200 Palestinians reported killed since then.
The Palestinian Wafa news agency, citing Al-Shifa Hospital, said an Israeli drone strike in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood killed two people and wounded several others.
Hospital sources, cited by Al Jazeera, said that another drone strike in Deir al-Balah killed one person.
A separate strike on a tent near a school in the al-Mawasi area north of Khan Younis killed another Palestinian, according to Wafa news agency.
Medical warehouses destroyed in Gaza
In an overnight attack, an Israeli air strike destroyed two warehouses used to store medicines for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, Gaza’s Health Ministry said.
The ministry said two additional medicine warehouses and the hospital’s outpatient clinic were damaged in the strike.
Reuters footage from the site showed a large crater surrounded by debris, including what appeared to be medical supplies, close to a densely populated camp for displaced Palestinians.
The hospital said the destroyed warehouses contained essential medicines, intravenous fluids, dialysis supplies and wound-care materials used to treat patients.
“The Israeli occupation has committed a heinous crime,” hospital doctor Khalil al-Daqran told Reuters.
“In the middle of the night, the military targeted a warehouse containing medical supplies for the hospital, and the occupation completely destroyed it,” he said.
The Health Ministry described the strike as a “heinous crime” and appealed for international intervention to protect medical facilities.
Israel says Hamas site targeted
Hours after the strike, the Israeli military said it had attacked a Hamas hideout near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital that it alleged was being used to store weapons.
The military said the operation, directed by the Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency, also targeted four other Hamas weapons storage sites across Gaza.
It did not provide evidence to support its claim that Hamas had stored weapons at the sites.
Witnesses cited by Reuters said the Israeli military had issued an evacuation warning before carrying out the strike in Deir al-Balah.
Under international humanitarian law, hospitals and medical facilities are protected from attack unless they are being used for military purposes.
Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas and other Palestinian groups of operating from civilian infrastructure, including hospitals. Hamas has denied using hospitals for military purposes.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said seven Palestinians were killed and 76 wounded across the territory during the previous 48 hours, with one additional person later dying from earlier injuries.
The ministry said 1,222 Palestinians had been killed since the ceasefire came into effect in October 2025. It put the overall death toll from the war, which began in October 2023, at 73,349.
