RIYADH: Arab nations have strongly condemned attacks on Saudi oil facilities launched from Iraqi territory, calling them a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability.
In a statement, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the attacks are unacceptable and a flagrant violation of international law, and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and global energy stability.
It reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all measures it takes to preserve its security and sovereignty, and rejecting all attacks targeting civilian infrastructure or compromising the security of Arab nations.

Qatar also slammed attacks that aimed to target oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region with drones launched from Iraqi territory, considering them “a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a threat to its security, stability, and the safety of its lands”, as well as a flagrant breach of international law.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the sister Arab Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its support for all legitimate measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its lands,” the foreign ministry says in a statement posted on X.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi strongly condemned the continued attacks on Saudi Arabia by Iran-backed militias in Iraq, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty.
He said the attacks posed a direct threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and stability, as well as to regional peace and security.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stressing that member states fully support all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“The continuation of these terrorist assaults constitutes a direct threat to regional peace and security, undermining international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and consolidating security and stability,” Albudaiwi stated.
Kuwait condemned the attacks as a violation of Saudi sovereignty and affirmed Riyadh’s right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, its Foreign Ministry said.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also strongly condemned repeated attacks by Iran-backed militias targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs launched from Iraqi territory.
In a statement, the ministry described the attacks as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, violates the principles of good-neighborliness and international law, contravenes UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and undermines efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security and stability. It also emphasised Saudi Arabia’s right to respond to acts of aggression and hold those responsible accountable in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, international law and the GCC Joint Defence Agreement.
Bahrain further expressed support for any response Saudi Arabia considers appropriate, highlighting the longstanding fraternal ties between the two countries and noting that Saudi Arabia’s security and stability are closely linked to Bahrain’s national security and the collective security of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
The ministry also commended the effectiveness and readiness of Saudi air defence systems in intercepting and destroying the UAVs before they reached their targets, helping to protect civilians and critical infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday that the Kingdom’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed several drones over the past few hours, which had attempted to target petroleum facilities in the Kingdom’s Eastern Region.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defence’s official spokesperson, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said the attempted attacks were launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by Iran-affiliated terrorist militias.
“Major General Al-Maliki clarified that these terrorist attempts were once again launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by Iran-affiliated terrorist militias,” the Ministry of Defence statement read.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet reaffirmed that the Kingdom would not tolerate any threats to its security, national interests or critical infrastructure, strongly condemning attacks by Iran-backed militias in Yemen and Iraq targeting oil facilities in Riyadh and the Eastern Province, as well as commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
