RIYADH: Libya has strongly condemned statements issued by the Houthi militia targeting the security of Saudi Arabia and threatening the safety of maritime navigation, reaffirming its full support for the Kingdom’s efforts to safeguard regional peace and stability.
In a statement carried by the Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya’s Government of National Unity denounced the Houthi remarks and expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures aimed at protecting its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministry stressed that Libya stands firmly with the Kingdom as it continues to safeguard the security of the region and ensure the safety of key international maritime routes.
It also underscored the importance of respecting international law, relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and international conventions to prevent further escalation.

Libya called on all parties to support efforts that promote regional peace, stability and security, reiterating its backing for international initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and protecting freedom of navigation.
Saudi Arabia has consistently worked with regional and international partners to strengthen security and stability across the Middle East while supporting diplomatic efforts to resolve regional conflicts peacefully.
The Libyan statement reflects growing regional support for the Kingdom’s role in promoting stability and confronting threats to international shipping and regional security.
It also highlights the importance of collective action to preserve peace, protect vital maritime corridors and prevent actions that could undermine stability in the wider region.
