RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned repeated Iranian unjustified attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, reaffirming its support for the Gulf nations.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Thursday, backed all measures taken by the states in response to the brutal Iranian attacks.

The Kingdom said Iranian actions not only threaten the security and stability of the region but also violate the principles of international law and the rules of good-neighborliness.

It stressed the importance of an immediate halt to all forms of military escalation and a return to dialogue and the resolution of disputes through diplomatic means.

Kuwait and Bahrain came under renewed Iranian aerial attacks on Thursday, according to their respective militaries, as Tehran and Washington continued exchanging strikes in an escalating conflict centred on the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. Jordan has also been targeted in recent days.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Kingdom held Iran responsible for the consequences of its continued blatant attacks and called on Iran to immediately cease these violations to preserve the security, stability, and safety of the region.

Earlier, the US military said it had completed another wave of precision strikes against military targets in Iran, with the Pentagon saying the operation was intended to further degrade Tehran’s ability to threaten international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the latest operation concluded at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday after coordinated strikes authorised by President Donald Trump.

CENTCOM said American forces targeted Iranian command and control centres, air defence systems, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities.

The US military said the operation aimed to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping through one of the world’s busiest maritime routes.

The military said the strikes included attacks on multiple sites, including the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, a key centre for Iran’s naval and military operations.
