LONDON, England: In a night that will go down in music history, global superstar Pitbull didn’t just headline a concert, he rewrote the record books. The 45-year-old rapper shattered two Guinness World Records at his American Express presents BST Hyde Park show on Saturday, cementing his status as “Mr Worldwide” in spectacular fashion.

The Miami-born artist, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, achieved the unprecedented feat of gathering the largest number of people wearing bald caps simultaneously, while also headlining the highest-attended show in BST Hyde Park history with an astonishing 69,999 fans packing the iconic London venue.

Record-breaking bald cap gathering

The Guinness World Record attempt, verified at 5:00pm local time, saw an incredible 22,141 bald cap-wearing fans counted across the crowd. The meticulous verification process was led by BBC Radio 1’s Greg James and involved 400 volunteers, supported by drone footage reviewed by 42 counters working backstage.

In a quirky twist, Pitbull himself was required to don a bald cap to be included in the count, as the record specifically recognised people wearing bald caps rather than naturally bald individuals.

When the numbers were officially confirmed, Guinness World Records Adjudicator Will Munford presented the certificate to a visibly moved Pitbull before he took to the stage.

A night of unforgettable performances

Beginning his set on a high note, Pitbull delivered a pulsating 20-song performance packed with global anthems including ‘Hotel Room Service’, ‘International Love’, and ‘Don’t Stop The Party’.

“Who would have ever thought a first-generation Cuban would be able to be in London record-breaking and record-making one for the Guinness Book of World Records,” an emotional Pitbull told reporters, reflecting on his journey from immigrant roots to global stardom.

In a touching tribute to the British crowd, who braved blazing heat to support the record attempt, Pitbull performed the Oasis classic ‘Wonderwall’, which has seen a resurgence as an unofficial England anthem during the World Cup.

The star-studded event also featured electrifying performances from ‘Pass Out’ rapper Tinie Tempah, pop sensation Kesha, and hip-hop legend Lil Jon, who later joined Pitbull on stage for their hit collaborations.
