Organisers say travel restrictions and Israeli checkpoints make the event harder to stage, but prize-winner Rashad Al-Sah says the Arabian horse remains deeply tied to Arab identity. “Arabian horse is a part of you, even if you do not own a horse of your own, but you feel that it is here [in the heart],” he says.
