JEDDAH: The Pakistan Cricket Board has signed a landmark strategic partnership agreement with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation to build a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Jeddah, marking a major step in the development of cricket in Saudi Arabia.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud on Wednesday.
Under the agreement, the PCB will construct a modern cricket stadium in Jeddah with advanced facilities and infrastructure designed to meet International Cricket Council standards. The venue is expected to enable Saudi Arabia to host international cricket matches and major tournaments in the future.
The partnership will also focus on broader cricket infrastructure development, technical expertise, stadium planning and operational standards. Both boards will work together to support the growth of modern and integrated cricket facilities across the Kingdom.
The project is also expected to contribute to Saudi Vision 2030 by encouraging investment in sport, promoting sports tourism, increasing public participation and improving quality of life.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi described the agreement as a historic milestone for cricket in Saudi Arabia.
“This agreement is a milestone for the promotion of cricket in Saudi Arabia,” Naqvi said.
He said the PCB was proud to contribute to the development of cricket in the Kingdom and believed the collaboration would open new opportunities for players while strengthening sporting ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
“We are establishing a partnership together that will make the sport stronger and stronger,” Naqvi said.
Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud welcomed the agreement, saying the partnership would go beyond stadium construction and help secure a bright future for cricket in Saudi Arabia.
