RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding scientific, training and research cooperation.
The MoU was signed following a meeting between Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the longstanding relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and discussed ways to further enhance security cooperation and coordination between their interior ministries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

They also exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest. The agreement seeks to promote the exchange of expertise and strengthen institutional capacity in areas of shared interest.
The meeting and signing ceremony were attended by Acting Vice Minister of Interior Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, and senior officials from both countries.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, underscoring continued efforts to strengthen the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport, the interior minister was warmly received by Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, highlighting the close and enduring ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The visit is expected to focus on a range of issues of mutual interest, including enhancing cooperation in internal security, counter-terrorism, combating narcotics trafficking, and expanding institutional collaboration between the interior ministries of both countries.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed decades of strong strategic relations, with regular high-level engagements aimed at deepening cooperation in political, economic, security, and defence sectors.
Mohsin Naqvi’s visit is viewed as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce bilateral coordination and further strengthen the enduring partnership between the two brotherly nations.
