ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s rising spin sensation Abrar Ahmed has continued his impressive climb in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings, overtaking India’s Varun Chakaravarthy to secure the second position, a feat that has once again put the spotlight on Pakistan’s bowling prowess in the shortest format of the game.
The enigmatic leg-spinner, who has been making waves with his variations and control, jumped one place from third with 736 rating points, leaving behind Chakaravarthy and narrowing the gap with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who continues to lead the chart with 753 points.

With just 17 points separating him from the top spot, Abrar is now within striking distance of dethroning the world’s premier T20I bowler.
Pakistan’s bowling depth on display
The latest rankings update reflects the strength and depth of Pakistan’s spin-bowling arsenal. Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz has retained his 12th position, while pacer Salman Mirza remains steady at 20th. Left-arm quick Shaheen Afridi holds on to 30th place with 602 rating points, demonstrating his consistent presence in the top tier.
Spinner Usman Tariq has also kept his 60th spot, while the trio of Sufiyan Muqeem, Saim Ayub, and Shadab Khan remain unchanged at 68th, 71st, and 73rd positions respectively. Fast bowler Haris Rauf has held on to 89th place with 448 rating points, while Abbas Afridi has climbed one place to 100th with 415 points.

Farhan shines in batting rankings
In the T20I batters’ rankings, Pakistan’s opening batter Sahibzada Farhan retained his impressive third spot with 848 rating points, continuing to be a bright spot for Pakistan in the batting department.
Meanwhile, India’s Ishan Kishan reclaimed the number one position, dethroning the out-of-form Abhishek Sharma, who slipped to second place.
However, barring Farhan, no other Pakistan batter features in the top 40. Saim Ayub retained his position at 40th, followed by Babar Azam at 42nd, while Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha occupies 44th place. Left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman also climbed one place to 72nd with 481 rating points.
All-rounders’ rankings: Saim Ayub holds third spot
In the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub retained his third spot, with Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continuing to lead the chart, followed by India’s Hardik Pandya in second.
Mohammad Nawaz slipped one place to 10th, while Shadab Khan retained his 23rd position. Faheem Ashraf climbed one spot to 53rd, followed by Salman Ali Agha, who also moved up one place to 55th. Shaheen Shah Afridi retained his 62nd spot.
