JEDDAH: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, received a phone call on Sunday from French President Emmanuel Macron and discussed diplomatic efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
During the call, the Saudi Crown Prince and French President reviewed regional and international developments, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
They also discussed the latest developments regarding the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the United States and Iran, as well as efforts to reach comprehensive solutions that achieve security and stability in the region.
The two sides affirmed the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and supporting diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, according to SPA.
They also discussed areas of joint cooperation and a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud expressed deep concern over the evolving situation in the region during a telephone conversation on Sunday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said.
During the telephone conversation, Deputy PM Dar and Foreign Minister Prince Faisal also held an in-depth discussion on recent regional developments and expressed deep concern about the evolving situation.
Deputy PM Dar reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue working towards the prevalence of peace in the region in pursuance of the “Islamabad MoU” between the US and Iran.
Prince Faisal also conveyed that he plans to visit Pakistan on mutually convenient dates at the earliest. The Deputy PM welcomed and hoped that the visit would materialise soon.
