RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah on Saturday received a phone call from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
During the call, the two sides discussed the latest developments and expressed their condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, as well as the threats to maritime navigation, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
They also stressed the importance of adhering to the US-Iran agreement, exerting further efforts to ensure the success of the negotiation process, and reaching comprehensive solutions that enhance security and stability across the region.
Saudi, Egyptian FMs condemn threats to maritime navigation
Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal received a phone call from Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
During the call, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region, condemned and denounced the recent Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and the threats to maritime navigation, and stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to de-escalate tensions and return to the negotiation track in a manner that preserves peace and security across the region, according to SPA.
The Saudi Foreign Minister also received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.
During the call, they discussed the latest developments and issues of mutual interest.
Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the Iranian attacks on Bahraini territories with several drones early this Saturday morning.
In a statement, the ministry said that Saudi Arabia affirms its categorical rejection of these attacks as a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and reiterates that such violations undermine international efforts to restore security and stability in the region.
The ministry added that Saudi Arabia further renews its solidarity with Bahrain and its full support for all measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
