ISLAMABAD: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation, and diplomatic engagement in the region.
President Sisi also commended the contributions of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, and the Chief of Army Staff aimed at fostering regional peace and stability, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Sunday.
“President El-Sisi expressed the hope that ongoing efforts and the next phase of negotiations would contribute to lasting peace, security, and prosperity across the wider region,” it said.
The Egyptian President said this during a joint call by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Foreign Minister of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, and Foreign Minister of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdelatty in Cairo on Sunday.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding, brotherly, and multifaceted relationship with Egypt.
The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the positive momentum generated by recent high-level engagements between the two countries, noting that these exchanges have helped deepen bilateral cooperation across a broad range of sectors.
He also welcomed President El-Sisi’s acceptance of the Prime Minister’s invitation to visit Pakistan and expressed hope that reciprocal leadership visits would take place at the earliest mutually convenient opportunity, further enhancing ties between the two nations.
“The meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on regional and international developments, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East, and the importance of advancing peace, stability, dialogue, and diplomatic engagement across the region,” the statement said.
President El-Sisi reciprocated the warm greetings and best wishes conveyed by President Asif Ali Zardari and the leadership of Pakistan.

The discussions also covered the consultations held among the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye under the R4 framework. The leaders highlighted the growing importance of the R4 as a valuable mechanism for structured dialogue, strategic coordination, and policy consultation on issues of mutual interest.
They expressed confidence that continued engagement and closer cooperation within the framework would help advance peace, stability, economic growth, and regional prosperity, while promoting the shared interests of their nations and peoples.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye met in Cairo at the Fourth Consultative Meeting, expressing alignment on regional de-escalation, collective security, and long-term stability across the Middle East.
Welcoming the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last week by the presidents of the US and Iran, the four foreign ministers backed the next round of talks scheduled to begin later today in Switzerland.
