DUBAI, UAE: With just one day left until the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off across USA, Canada, and Mexico, Moroccan-Canadian dynamo Nora Fatehi has seized the spotlight, dropping an explosive new single that pulses with desert heat, rhythmic fire, and unapologetic Arab pride, ensuring her voice booms through stadiums from Mexico City to New Jersey.
The music video for “Siir Siir” features Fatehi dancing against a sweeping desert backdrop in a striking red-and-white outfit, surrounded by flags and national jerseys.

The track, a collaboration with music producer Sanjoy and French-Congolese artist Vegedream, whose 2018 fan-favorite “Ramenez la Coupe a la Maison” became an unofficial World Cup anthem, arrived as part of FIFA’s most diverse musical project to date. The video was directed by Abderrafia El-Abdioui.
For Fatehi, whose family roots trace to Morocco, the moment is deeply personal. Though born and raised in Canada, she has frequently spoken of her Arab heritage, and “Siir Siir” continues her mission to bridge Middle Eastern, African, and Western entertainment.
It is her second consecutive World Cup collaboration, following her appearance on the official 2022 Qatar World Cup soundtrack “Light the Sky” alongside Arab artists Balqees, Rahma Riad, and Manal.

Global stage set for tomorrow’s kickoff
The 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, begins tomorrow, June 11, with Mexico City Stadium (formerly the Estadio Azteca) hosting the opening ceremony 90 minutes before Mexico faces South Africa in a repeat of the 2010 opener.

Authorities have declared June 11 a public holiday in Mexico City, with schools closed and employers encouraged to allow remote work. Access to the stadium area will be restricted to ticket holders, accredited media and authorized personnel.
The ceremony is expected to celebrate Mexican culture through Indigenous performers, contemporary folkloric acts, and the traditional art of papel picado.
Artists featured on the Official FIFA World Cup Album are set to perform, including Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Angeles Ángeles Azules, and Maná, alongside South African singer-songwriter Tyla.
FIFA’s 2026 soundtrack features an eclectic roster spanning Latin pop, Afrobeats, K-pop, and Arabic music. Among the standout names is Palestinian Chilean singer Elyanna, who appears on “Illuminate” with Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez, blending Arabic melodies with Latin and contemporary pop influences.
Elyanna is scheduled to perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Toronto on June 12, having posted on social media in May: “Rooting for all the MENA region. Making us proud! See you at the opening ceremony.”

Shakira, Madonna and BTS to headline final half-time show
Excitement is also building around the final, scheduled for July 19 in New Jersey, where FIFA has planned a star-studded half-time show featuring Madonna, Shakira, and K-pop group BTS.

Opening matchups across three nations
Three opening matches will take place across the host nations:
- Mexico City:Mexico vs. South Africa (following the opening ceremony)
- Toronto:Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking a historic milestone as the Canadian Men’s National Team’s first World Cup match played on home soil
- Los Angeles:United States vs. Paraguay
