ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has met Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Issa in Makkah, where the two leaders discussed Islamic and regional affairs and praised Saudi Arabia’s arrangements for serving millions of pilgrims during this year’s Hajj.
According to a social media post shared by the organisation on Friday, Naqvi commended the Muslim World League’s efforts in promoting Islamic awareness and strengthening unity within the Muslim world.
The meeting took place as Saudi Arabia concluded this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, one of the world’s largest annual religious gatherings, which brought Muslims from across the globe to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
Pakistan remained among the largest contributors of Hajj pilgrims this year, sending around 179,000 pilgrims under both government and private schemes, including more than 115,000 through the state-run programme.
“During the meeting, a number of topics related to Islamic and regional affairs were discussed,” the Muslim World League said in a post on X.
