ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia will provide training to 200 personnel from Pakistan’s Federal Constabulary Special Diplomatic Protection Unit under an agreement reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Saudi counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud.
According to Pakistan’s interior ministry, the decision was made during talks held between the two sides on Thursday as both countries moved to deepen cooperation in internal security and diplomatic protection.
The ministry said the two interior ministers exchanged Eidul Azha greetings and conveyed best wishes to each other during the meeting.
The meeting included discussions on Pakistan-Saudi bilateral relations, internal security cooperation and the broader regional situation.
Officials said both sides agreed to further strengthen coordination between their interior ministries, with a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior expected to visit Pakistan soon.
Naqvi praised the Saudi government for its excellent arrangements for Hajj pilgrims this year.
The Saudi interior minister also appreciated Pakistan’s role in helping reduce regional tensions and acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts aimed at promoting stability in the region.
