RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and reviewed the latest developments in the region.

“During the call, the two ministers reviewed the latest developments in the region and ongoing bilateral coordination and consultations in this regard,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The phone call comes at a time of heightened regional tensions following recent US military strikes on Iran. The developments have raised concerns about escalation, even as diplomatic channels remain active and negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue in parallel.

It may be recalled that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Saturday received a phone call from Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the phone conversation, the two leaders reviewed relations and ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

They also discussed the latest regional developments and efforts being undertaken to achieve security and stability,

Saudi Arabia and Qatar have in recent years strengthened bilateral relations and expanded cooperation across political and economic fields.

Both countries have maintained close communication on regional diplomacy, Gulf cooperation, energy matters, and international initiatives.

The latest telephone conversation also reflects the shared commitment of Riyadh and Doha to enhancing Gulf coordination and supporting diplomatic solutions to regional crises through dialogue and cooperation.
