QUETTA: Pakistan’s Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) has launched a fully funded scholarship programme for top-performing matriculation students across Balochistan for the academic year 2026.
The initiative is aimed at supporting talented students from all districts of Pakistan’s largest province by providing financial assistance for higher education.
According to officials, the top 10 students from each district — including five boys and five girls — will receive fully funded scholarships based on the provisional merit list prepared using data from relevant educational boards.
Authorities said the merit list remains provisional and students who secured high marks but were not included may submit scholarship forms or objections to the BEEF office by June 30, 2026.
The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Matric District Toppers Fully Funded Scholarship Program was announced by BEEF Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Khalid Mandai under the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Academic opportunities
Officials said the programme is designed to ensure deserving students can continue their education without financial obstacles, particularly in underserved and remote areas of Balochistan.
The scholarship scheme forms part of broader efforts to improve educational access and academic opportunities in the province, which continues to face challenges related to literacy, infrastructure and higher education access.
The announcement comes as Pakistan expands educational cooperation initiatives both domestically and internationally.
Earlier this year, Pakistan launched the second phase of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor during the Pakistan Education Expo 2026 held in Dhaka.
The programme, organised by the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), offers scholarships and academic opportunities for Bangladeshi students as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral educational ties.
