During the visit, the two leaders are expected to exchange views on bilateral relations, cooperation across various sectors, and international and regional issues of mutual interest, according to China’s Foreign Ministry.
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said the highlight of the visit will be a tea ceremony hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping for his Russian counterpart, providing an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss pressing international issues.
The tea ceremony, attended by a limited circle of delegates, will follow a series of official engagements, including Russia-China delegation talks, a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the inauguration of the cross-cultural education years, a tour of the TASS-Xinhua joint exhibition on the history of bilateral relations, and a meeting with young Chinese engineer Peng Pai, among other formal events.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that the visit will provide an opportunity to further deepen and elevate ties between China and Russia, contributing greater stability and positive momentum to global affairs.
