The discussions came at a time when Middle Eastern countries are intensifying diplomatic engagement to address a range of regional challenges, including ongoing conflicts, humanitarian concerns, and efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s cabinet had strongly condemned treacherous attacks on the territories and territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait.
On the other hand, the Strait of Hormuz — a crucial global energy shipping route linking Gulf oil producers to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea — has remained largely shut down.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump said he believed Iran would eventually “surrender” and reiterated that Tehran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
“Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” he said, adding that Tehran had been “defeated militarily, totally”.
Trump also said last week that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran could potentially be reached soon through Pakistan-led diplomatic efforts.
