BEIRUT: Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 2,846 people in Lebanon since March 2, according to the latest figures released on Sunday by the country’s Ministry of Public Health.
The ministry further stated that 8,693 individuals have been injured during the same period, highlighting the continued intensity of violence despite international efforts aimed at de-escalation in the region.
According to the official update, the situation has remained volatile even after a ceasefire took effect on April 16.
Since that agreement, at least 552 people have been killed and a further 1,149 have sustained injuries, indicating that hostilities have persisted on the ground.
Authorities noted that Israeli strikes have been reported across multiple areas in southern Lebanon in recent weeks, contributing to widespread destruction and mounting humanitarian concerns.
The latest figures underline the severe and continuing human cost of the conflict, as civilians remain caught in the ongoing exchanges of fire despite diplomatic attempts to restore calm.
