Pakistan Arts Council Honours ‘Marka-e-Haq’ Heroes

Exhibition and ceremony pay heartfelt homage to martyrs and Ghazis on one year after 'Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos'.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) transformed Wednesday into a day of reverence and remembrance, pouring its soul into a heartfelt tribute to the heroes of Marka-e-Haq through a stirring fusion of visual splendour and performing brilliance, unfolding across two landmark events that marked the first anniversary of the nation’s defining operation.

PNCA Auditorium swelled with patriotic fervour as a distinguished national ceremony, ‘National Tribute to Ghazis & Heroes of Marka-e-Haq’, unfolded in all its grace and grandeur.

Just a stone’s throw away, the halls of the National Art Gallery came alive with colour and conviction, hosting the inauguration of ‘Azm-e-Marsoos: Young Artists Commemorate One Year of Marka-e-Haq,’ where brushstrokes and canvases whispered tales of courage that words alone could never tell.

Ceremony honours sacrifices of Martyrs and Ghazis

The auditorium event commenced with a specially produced documentary on Marka-e-Haq, highlighting the courage, professionalism, and extraordinary sacrifices of the nation’s brave sons, evoking deep emotions and a renewed sense of national pride among the audience.

Director General PNCA, Muhammad Ayoub Jamali, in his welcome address, emphasised that nations derive strength and continuity from the sacrifices of their martyrs and Ghazis. He reaffirmed PNCA’s commitment to promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and organising meaningful initiatives that strengthen national unity.

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, who served as chief guest, paid glowing tribute to the Ghazis and heroes, acknowledging their exceptional courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment. He also appreciated the leadership of the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and bravery.

The hall echoed with spirited chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Fauj Paindabad” as a special visual presentation honoured the martyrs and Ghazis.

Renowned artists Shaina Ali, Bano Rehmat, Zafar Khan, Akhtar Chanal, and Hadiya Hashmi captivated the audience with cultural performances, including the widely appreciated “Medley of Pakistan.”

Young artists showcase resilience through art

‘Azm-e-Marsoos’ exhibition was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. (R) Humayun Bangash, a distinguished figure in calligraphy, alongside Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi and DG PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali.

The exhibition brings together young artists from across Pakistan to reflect upon and reinterpret the meaning of Marka-e-Haq for a new generation. Through paintings and mixed media works, participating artists explore themes of courage, sacrifice, unity, and the enduring bond between the people and their defenders.

Lt. Gen. (R) Humayun Bangash remarked, “Today, I have witnessed not just art, but the voice of a proud and determined generation. These young artists have expressed through colour and form what words often cannot, their profound love for Pakistan and deep respect for the Armed Forces who safeguard our freedom.”

The exhibition has received an overwhelming response from young artists nationwide, with submissions reflecting deep patriotism and heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers safeguarding Pakistan’s borders.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until May 14, 2026, with galleries closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Participants at both events reaffirmed their collective resolve to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs and Ghazis and to continue contributing towards the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
