JEDDAH: The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has launched a digital platform, “Discover Makkah,” to improve access to information and services for visitors to Makkah.
The platform provides a unified official source to help pilgrims and visitors plan their journeys and navigate key locations in Makkah, according to Arab News.
It features information on historical landmarks, cultural sites, and museums, along with interactive tools such as smart maps and a trip planner.
The commission stated that it provided reliable, regularly updated information through a single channel, thereby reducing the need for multiple sources and supporting visitors from planning to their on-the-ground experience.
CEO Saleh Al-Rasheed said that the initiative aimed to enhance destination management and deliver an integrated, user-friendly experience based on accurate information.
He added that it helped to unify Makkah-related content and present it digitally in an organized format. The platform also highlights Makkah’s cultural and historical heritage by showcasing sites linked to Islamic history.
It targets citizens, residents, researchers, and content creators by providing verified information and images for educational and creative use.
The launch aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 to improve services for pilgrims and enhance the visitor experience. The platform is available at discovermakkah.sa.
