ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Tuesday, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East and ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions.
Sharif briefed his counterpart on Pakistan’s outreach aimed at promoting peace and de-escalation in the region, including engagement with key stakeholders.
Luxon expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, particularly its efforts to maintain dialogue with both Washington and Tehran, and conveyed his support for mediation efforts.

The Pakistani premier reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to advancing peace, dialogue, and stability, both regionally and globally, while thanking Luxon for his support.
The two leaders also agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over the friendly ties between Pakistan and New Zealand. They acknowledged the positive role of the Pakistani diaspora in New Zealand in fostering closer links between the two countries.
During the call, Sharif extended an invitation to Luxon to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.
