LONDON, England: Babar Azam-led Pakistan squad touched down in England on Saturday morning for a three-match Test series, scheduled to be played from August 19 to September 13.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the national squad, following their arrival in the country, will rest today and on Sunday before commencing their practice at the County Ground in Beckenham from August 10.

To further boost their preparations for the series, part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27, the touring side will also play a four-day match against Select XI from August 12 to 15.
First test tour of England since 2020
The Test series, which is Pakistan’s first in England since 2020, will get underway on August 19, with the opening fixture scheduled to be played at Headingley in Leeds until August 23.
The iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground will host the subsequent fixture from August 27 to 31, while the third Test will be played at Birmingham’s Edgbaston from September 9 to 13.
Notably, the Green Shirts enter the assignment with a morale-boosting 1-1 series draw against West Indies, during which they registered their first triumph in an away Test since July 2023. The team departed the Caribbean immediately after the drawn series, shifting focus quickly to what will be another major red-ball assignment.
England under new leadership
England, meanwhile, will be led by Joe Root for the first time following Ben Stokes’ retirement from Test cricket, with Marcus Trescothick serving as interim head coach.
The hosts have named a 16-member squad for the first two Tests, recalling Surrey duo Ollie Pope and Dan Lawrence, while Jordan Cox replaces the injured Jacob Bethell at number three.
“Lawrence earns his way back into the England squad on the back of an impressive run in the County Championship season, where he has amassed a whopping 788 runs off 13 innings at an average of 65.66,” according to the ICC.
