KARACHI: Online ticket sales for the HBL Pakistan Super League (HBL PSL) 11 Qualifier witnessed an overwhelming response, with fans rushing to secure seats for the high-stakes clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United.

Shortly after tickets were made available, users reported heavy traffic on the official booking platform, as thousands attempted to purchase seats simultaneously.

The surge in demand reflects growing excitement around the playoffs, particularly after authorities allowed spectators to return to stadiums.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier announced that tickets for all enclosures at the National Bank Stadium were priced at PKR 500, making the Qualifier accessible to a large number of fans.

Strong fan response

The affordable pricing and high stakes of the match contributed to a surge in online bookings, with demand appearing to outpace system capacity during peak hours.

The Qualifier holds significant importance in the tournament’s playoff structure, with the winner securing a direct place in the final, further intensifying interest among supporters.

The development follows recent approval by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif allowing public attendance at all PSL 11 playoff matches, reversing earlier restrictions.

Playoff momentum builds

With HBL PSL 11 entering its final stage, fan engagement has risen sharply, both online and at venues. Karachi is hosting the Qualifier, while the remaining playoff matches, including the final, are scheduled in Lahore.

The strong response to ticket sales highlights the league’s growing popularity and the enthusiasm surrounding marquee fixtures as teams compete for the title.
