Saudi Crown Prince Discusses Regional Developments with Swiss President, Japanese PM

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has discussed regional developments with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, and the Japanese Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi.

In a meeting with Guy Parmelin in Jeddah, the Crown Prince reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation across various fields and identified promising opportunities to develop it, particularly in investment, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

They also discussed matters of mutual interest, recent regional and global developments, and ways to coordinate their efforts on these issues.

The meeting was attended on the Saudi side by Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; Minister of State, Cabinet Member, and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban; Governor of the Public Investment Fund Yasir Al-Rumayyan; Minister of Investment Fahad Al-Saif; and Saudi Ambassador to Switzerland Abdulrahman A. Dawood.

On the Swiss side, participants included State Secretary for Economic Affairs Helene Budliger; Swiss Ambassador to the Kingdom Yasmine Chatila; National Security Advisor Gabriel Luchinger; along with several other officials.

Meanwhile, the Crown Prince held a telephonic conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi during which the two sides reviewed the latest regional developments and their security and economic implications at both the regional and international levels, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

They also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields.

The talks also addressed initiatives to ease tensions, strengthen regional security and stability, and safeguard maritime routes, as well as the economic consequences and effects on global supply chains.
