KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait: Kuwait on Tuesday urged citizens and residents to remain indoors from midnight until early Wednesday as a precautionary measure, hours ahead of a deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Iran to reach a deal or face potential strikes.

Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said in a statement that people should avoid going out between 12:00am and 6:00am unless absolutely necessary, citing current conditions and the need to ensure public safety and support security operations.

The directive was shared on X as part of broader precautionary steps.

“Due to current conditions, the Ministry is taking precautionary measures to ensure public safety and enhance emergency response. For everyone’s safety, citizens and residents are urged to stay at home and only go out if absolutely necessary. This applies from today Tuesday (April 7) 12:00 midnight to 6:00 AM (April 8),” the Interior ministry stated in a statement on X.

“The measure aims to maintain safety, support security operations, and ensure stability. Everyone is asked to follow instructions and cooperate with authorities,” the ministry added.

Meanwhile, Kuwait News Agency reported that Kuwait’s Cabinet urges citizens and residents to adhere to the calls issued by the Ministries of Defence and Interior, the National Guard, and the Fire Force, urging the public not to circulate images or videos from targeted sites and avoid spreading rumours.

Bahrain’s main port to suspend operations

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s main port will temporarily suspend operations starting early Wednesday.

“Operations in Khalifa Bin Salman Port will be temporarily suspended from early April 8. We continuously adapt our operations to the circumstances and have, as a result, temporarily paused operations in recent weeks when needed,” APM Terminals Bahrain, which operates the port, told AFP.
