LAHORE: Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to field first against Quetta Gladiators in the 13th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
The 2021 champions opted to chase under favourable conditions as both sides look to build momentum in the early phase of the tournament.

Quetta Gladiators fielded a balanced side led by captain Saud Shakeel. The line-up includes Shamyl Hussain, Khawaja Nafay (wk), Rilee Rossouw, Hasan Nawaz, Bevon Jacobs, Ahmed Daniyal, Tom Curran, Alzarri Joseph, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq.

Head-to-head record
Multan Sultans hold the edge in previous encounters between the two sides.
Out of 15 matches, Multan have secured nine victories, while Quetta have won six.
The Gladiators, however, had the upper hand in their most recent meetings during the previous PSL edition.
They registered a narrow two-wicket win and also claimed a dominant 10-wicket victory earlier in that tournament.

Both teams enter the contest with mixed form.
Multan Sultans have won two of their first three matches this season.
They began strongly with wins over Islamabad United and Karachi Kingsmen before losing to defending champions Lahore Qalandars by 20 runs.
Quetta Gladiators have had a less consistent start. They opened their campaign with a 14-run defeat to Karachi Kings, followed by a convincing win over Hyderabad Kingsmen.
However, they were beaten by eight wickets in their most recent outing against Islamabad United.
